This set of cards is based upon woodcuts published in two children's books, The Prize and Chatterbox, both were published in the early 1900's. They are a look back to an older simpler time, these images were only ever published in black and white and the very simplicity of the design has it's own simple charm. The cards have been kept deliberately blank to allow you to choose their use.

The original images were in books owned by my grandfather which I scanned at high definition and then used a graphics program to clean up the images to obtain maximum definitions. Many hours were spent working on each of these designs but it wasn't a chore it was a labour of love as I wanted to bring them back into the light and show them to a new generations.

This set of A5 cards have been professionally printed by Print.Work in the UK on 300 gsm card, which is thick and enables the cards to stand firmly upright without collapsing and come with envelopes. Print.Work are a planet friendly printing company using either 100% recycled materials and fsc accredited suppliers. This makes them a perfect fit for my beliefs.
